REEL AREA
The reel setup is 4-6-6-6-4 rows across 5 reels with several locked positions which can be opened by special symbols or Cockroach. Only the opened positions are active symbols. The base game starts with the 2 middle rows on the first 4 reels as active area, remaining positions are locked. In the 2 bonus modes additional positions are opened when bonus mode starts. Whenever a Wild, Scatter, xSplit or xWays lands on an open position it opens up the closest locked positions above and below on the respective reel.
TOAST BET
At a cost of an extra 20%, the player is guaranteed a Scatter symbol on the second reel. The payout for each symbol is not affected.
WILD
There are 2 Wild symbols in the game: Wild and Cockroach Nest. Wild can land on any reel except reel 1. Wild substitutes for any paying symbol.
SCATTER
Scatters can only land on middle 2 rows, reels 2-5 in base game and only reel 5 in Walk The Line Bonus. Landing 2 Scatters in base game opens up the middle 2 rows on reel 5. If only 2 Scatter land, they will transform into one of the following: xWays, xSplit, Wild or Cockroach Nest. 3 or 4 Scatters in base game will trigger the Bonus modes: Walk The Line or The Chair respectively.
WALK THE LINE
Landing 3 Scatter symbols in base game will trigger 8+ Walk the Line Spins. Any Scatter symbols affected by xSplits award +1 spin. Landing a Scatter in Walk the Line Spins(only available on reel 5) will award +2 spins (+1 extra if split) and upgrade any further Walk the Line spins into The Chair spins. Each spin start with the center 2-4-4-4-2 rows open and minimum 1 guaranteed Cockroach.
THE CHAIR
Landing 4 Scatter symbols in base game will trigger 8+ The Chair Spins. Any Scatter symbols affected by xSplits award +1 spin. Each spin start with the center 4-4-4-4-4 rows open and minimum 3 guaranteed Cockroach.
COCKROACH
Cockroaches can go anywhere in Folsom, but their nest will always spawn in the open positions on the 3 middle reels or transformed from Scatter. Any locked cell they go, opens up. A Cockroach has a starting position that is replaced by a Wild. It then walks above the reels, adding its multiplier to any symbol it passes. Cockroaches occupying the same positions at the same step will transform that position to Wild. In Bonus modes, the reels may land a Cockroach Nest symbol:
- It is inactive until a Cockroach walks on it, the Cockroach will also upgrade its multiplier to next level for rest of the feature.
- Cockroach upgrade can happen maximum 3 times. Multiplier levels are 1, 2, 3 and 10.
- If it holds 2 eggs, it will upgrade a Cockroach one level but also clone one more of that Cockroach for rest of feature. This can only occur once per bonus mode.
Cockroach keep their multipliers when Walk The Line upgrades to The Chair Spins.
xWAYS
xWays can appear anywhere. xWays symbols will transform into a normal paying symbol. It will reveal 2-4 symbols of the same kind and increase the number of win ways. xWays symbols will open 1 symbol above and 1 below on the same reel.
xSPLIT
xSplit symbols may only appear on the central 2 rows on reels 2-5 in Folsom. xSplit symbols split the entire row they land on, doubling the number of ways for paying symbols. It also splits itself into 2 Wilds. Split Scatters also award an extra spin when triggering Bonus. Split Scatters will also open up additional locked cells. Cockroach Nests increase it’s multiplier by one when split.
