Player Wins the Court Case Against Curacao Casino that Confiscated His Money

On March 14, the Curacao Court ruled that Cyberluck is responsible for its sub-licensees. It ordered the company to pay the Turkish player his money. It was quite a journey for the player as Bahsine casino (sub-licensed by Cyberluck) confiscated his TRY 620,000 (around USD 32k) back in 2018.

It would be highly unlikely for a player to win single-handedly. He contacted SBGOK, the Curacao-based Foundation for Representation of Victims of Online Gaming, to present his case in the court. Along with the full amount the casino confiscated, the court ordered to pay interest plus cover the legal costs and disbursements.

Cyberluck is one of several Master License holders, which has sub-licensed hundreds of gaming operators. They didn’t seem to be too eager to mediate disputes between casinos and players. But this court ruling might make them more involved in the arbitrage process.
