Five years ago, Black Cube published a report in which it accused Evolution of supplying content to illegal markets. Evolution denied allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit. For several years, it wasn’t clear who commissioned the investigation. But it then turned out to be Playtech. Now, Evolution adds the company to the list of defendants.
Playtech hired Black Cube to do the investigation. The parties agreed that Black Cube receives four different payments in case:
- It finds proof of Evolution’s illegal activities
- The news of that is published by a major outlet
- Investigation is launched into Evolution operations
- Evolution loses its license
Evolution thinks this was a deliberate campaign to get rid of the competition. While Playtech is confident that the report is accurate and Evolution was involved in illegal activities.
