United Kingdom Is Expected to Introduce £2 and £5 Bet Limits for Online Slot Machines

According to The Guardian, the UK is ready to announce the introduction of the max bet limits. Players under 25 will have a max online slot bet set at £2, and for older players the bet limit will be £5. The decision that is designed to protect players, is estimated to cost online casinos hundreds of millions. 

This move isn’t something unexpected, as the idea of the bet cap per spin for online slots was discussed since the publication of the White Paper in April 2023. But gambling companies probably hoped for higher limits as the document suggested the range between £2 and £15.    

The reason the UK government targets online slots is because they are the most popular types of games. Based on the latest report issued by the gambling regulator, slots account for 80% of the online casino revenue.
