The largest developer has recently been accused of releasing slot machines with too low volatility. This meant that players could not win big prizes while sacrificing win frequency. Instead, they had to settle for more frequent but smaller prizes.

Perhaps the change of top management in NetEnt, which took place in March last year, influenced the fact that the developer decided to change the situation. However, the studio decided to release a series of games in two versions, instead of producing high volatility slots. One will be regular, while the other will be MAX series.

Who Are the MAX Version Slots for?

Players who are ready to chase big wins will be the target audience of MAX games. Apparently, there are many such players, but there should be many of those who prefer small but frequent prizes as well. Perhaps that is why the developer decided to compromise, instead of simply increasing the number of slots with high volatility.

Some point out that the developer could have simply altered the volatility for the maximum bets. However, that would have been completely different. The MAX series slots do not require maximum bets in order for the volatility to increase. This is why the games will be affordable for players with different budgets. We believe this is a more attractive solution.

What is the difference between MAX and regular versions?

There will be no difference in slots other than volatility. They will have the same RTP, the same symbols, etc. It’s just that MAX slots will have higher maximum winnings and rarer payouts.

Launch and test of the first MAX slot

BerryBurst will be the first slot machine in dual format. The developer is going to launch MAX and the regular version on the same day, August 23rd. However, players were able to familiarize themselves with the slot even before the official launch, because NetEnt presented it at iGB Live Amsterdam on July 18th.

The developer recognized the influence of casino streams, inviting the famous streamer LetsGiveItASpin, named Kim Hultman. His channel hosted an exclusive game on the BerryBurst MAX slot on 18 July at 16:00 CET – the broadcast was made not from his usual studio, but directly from the exhibition in Amsterdam.

The game was played in test mode, because real bets will only be available on the day of the official launch. You can watch the video broadcast below. The streamer launched BerryBurst MAX from about the 23rd minute.

This is not the first time that LetsGiveItASpin gets an exclusive opportunity to be the first to play a slot that is not yet available to others. He already presented the Tiki Tumble slot by Push Gaming to the public in February last year.

Apparently, Kim Hultman is an undisputed leader in casino streaming. As for the way the casino streamers make money, we are increasingly inclined to believe that now streamers are paid directly for their work, and not through an affiliate program, in exceptional cases.

BerryBurst MAX

The difference between the regular and MAX versions is quite significant, judging by BerryBurst. Instead of a maximum win of 1,868x, BerryBurst MAX offers 6,000x of the bet. It is not as spectacular slot machine as the developer can produce, but it does have money-making features. Given the high volatility, you can expect the BerryBurst MAX to be quite popular. Dead or Alive from NetEnt is also not a very impressive slot in terms of design, but it still remains one of the most popular slots due to its potential.

BerryBurst is a slot machine of the Cluster Pays type. It pays for clusters of identical symbols, no matter which reel the cluster starts with. The key feature is Expanding Wild Reels. If one wild reel appears, the player gets free spins with this wild reel until new wild reels stop appearing.
