Slot Review
Blood & Shadow 2 marks the return of the widely-recognized Shadow girl, who appeared in two popular slots. This time, the game comes packed with even more features but keeps that iconic look and key elements such as Sticky Wilds, Candle Spins, xSplit, Ritual Bar and five levels.
Features
There are a lot of similarities between the first title and its sequel, but they aren’t necessarily used in exactly the same way. The tumbling feature is the key to getting a more and more exciting experience as it allows players to upgrade to higher levels.
There are five levels of this game and if you manage to upgrade in a single spin, the potential to win and win big improves. The max payout is x16,161.
Ritual Bar
To climb to levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, players need to accumulate 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 points in one spin. Blood & Shadow 2 releases points for landing valuable winning combinations or scatters.
- +1 point for every winning medium-value symbol.
- +2 points for every winning high-value symbol.
- +10 points for every scatter.
Every time players upgrade, they get the lowest paying symbol removed. In addition, medium-value symbols get an upgrade. Two other things that happen with every upgrade is:
- Candle Spins. +2 extra spins for reaching levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, and +6 when they advance to the highest level.
- +1 unlocked Wild at the bottom of the reel set.
Sticky Wilds
The symbols can appear on any reel during Candle Spins and Reign of Terror Spins. Wilds will appear in any position and they will then drop to the bottom and remain there until the feature ends or they are part of a winning combination.
xSplit
Blood & Shadow 2 offers two xSplit symbols. The Guillotine splits vertically below its position, and the Dagger splits horizontally both ways. Splitting always comes with x2 multiplier, which is the symbol count, and xSplit symbols transform to Wilds. Maximum symbol multiplier is x32.
Halifax Gibbet Spins
This is the level 3 of the game, and when players get there naturally without paying for a direct entry, +2 is added to their Candle Spins count. But when players pay for it, +6 Candle Spins are released. During this round, 3 low and medium value symbols are upgraded to high paying symbols.
Reign of Terror Spins
This is level 5 in the Blood & Shadow 2 slot machine, and it’s played differently. The Ritual Bar is gone and the reel set is 5×5 with the bottom row fully unlocked. And the best part is that there are only high-value symbols that appear on the reels. Each scatter adds +1 to the number of spins. When players buy this round, they get 10 free spins.
Bonus Buy
Players can pay x100 and x500 to enter Halifax Gibbet and Reign of Terror rounds, respectively. But there’s another option, which is the Lucky Draw. It costs x240 and randomly awards one of the two bonuses or 1 spin at Level 5 with both xSplit symbols active.
In addition to buying bonus spins, players can choose to activate the xBet feature. One of them costs x2.5 and increases the chance of triggering Reign of Terror. The other xBet option costs x66, but this time the reward is guaranteed, and it’s 1 spin at Level 5 with both xSplit symbols active.
Conclusion
Blood & Shadow 2 is a great addition to the player-favorite series that began with the release of Book of Shadows. There are many familiar things that were used, but some of them are slightly changed and new features have been added. As usual, the slot has great visuals, iconic atmosphere and engaging gameplay.
