In 2021 the slot was 19th of the Most Played New Slots. And it keeps showing exceptional performance. What makes it so appealing to gamblers is its engaging gameplay that is built around two key features such as cascades and Exploding Wilds in the main game and an epic bonus round.  

Features 

The first thing you’ll notice when loading Fire in the Hole is its layout. Out of six available rows, there are only three that are initially active, and with every cascade, one more gets activated. But there’s still the issue of blockers that can appear anywhere on the reels.  

These blockers are bad as they decrease the number of win ways, but there’s an easy solution, which is an xBomb Wild. When these symbols go off, they clear everything around them, including blockers. They land pretty frequently and every time they explode, they add +1 to the multiplier. A series of Wild blasts can get you a nice multiplier.  

One great thing about this symbol is that it doesn’t have to be a part of a winning combination to explode. There just needs to be any win for it to go off.  

Wild Mining  

Winning combinations in Fire in the Hole must include 3 similar symbols on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost. But sometimes you’ll get up to 5 similar icons in a straight line that fail to pay out because the first symbol isn’t on the first reel. That’s a bit frustrating but coming to the rescue is the Wild Mining feature.  

In the base game, when such a scenario plays out, it will sometimes trigger Wild Mining. In this case players get 1 Wild for 3 similar symbols and +1 for each additional symbol so that you can have up to 3 of them. Plus, all symbols on active rows will explode and trigger a cascade. But all special symbols remain on the reels.  

Bonus Game 

You would want to trigger this feature by landing 5 scatters, because that’s when you get the best deal Fire in the Hole can offer. But landing 3 or 4 of them can also deliver an exciting bonus round. This is a popular type of bonus where players get more spins in addition to the initial pack of 3 for each symbol that lands during the bonus game.  

Whenever a coin lands in the playing area, there’s an enhancer on the top row that gets activated. It can award an instant prize or a range of boosters that improve the win potential and unlock additional positions.  

And if the layout is fully unlocked, Dynamites can still come in handy as they activate the Chests located below the main area. That’s when there’s a real chance to max out the game potential as these Chests collect all prizes from their respective reels in every spin.

There are three bonus buy options, and depending how many active rows you want, the price varies. To get two rows, you’ll pay 60x bet.
