The same data is used to rank slot developers and the points earned by all slots released by the same studio are combined. Every slot that makes at least the top 100 contributes to the overall developer score. To be included in the 2023 Best Slot Developers list, creators need more than one popular game.

2023 was an eventful year with loads of amazing slot releases. But that just makes it even more challenging to pick games. 17 casinos supplied their data with the total of 721 titles that appeared in their top 100. And for the second time in a row, Gates of Olympus turned out to be the ultimate winner. Considering an insane level of competition, this is a fantastic result, and its position has actually improved. In 2023 this slot got the perfect score in 2 out of 17 casinos and landed in the top 10 in 9 casinos.
The top 5 remained pretty much the same compared to 2022. No new titles managed to make a big enough splash to break into this elite group. Big Bass Splash climbed two positions to the second place by securing the top spot in a single casino. Sweet Bonanza and The Dog House both dropped 1 position to the 3rd and 4th places respectively.

Every year we cooperate with gaming sites to find out which slots attracted the most players. And each year we have more casinos willing to contribute. All operators submit their list of 100 Most Played Slots in 2023 and that’s what determines the overall rating we have here.
Depending on the position taken in each individual rating, slots earn a certain number of points. The higher the position the more points are earned. The top score is 100 points and the lowest is 1. Then we add up all points for each slot to find the ultimate top performers.
Some will probably be surprised to see the winners as there are no massive hits that usually make headlines, offer crazy max win potentials and tons of features. Pragmatic Play is in a league of its own. This name keeps popping up in the top suppliers list over and over again, and the studio just keeps getting stronger. In 2021 it ranked 2nd. The year later it propelled to the first place leaving the second-best studio far behind. In 2023 it solidified its status by scoring over 25,000 points, which is almost 4 times the score of its closest rival, Play’n GO.
Even some of the biggest names in the industry are unable to keep up with the leader. Push Gaming dropped to 8th position, Nolimit City and Relax Gaming to 12th and 13th respectively. But there are some slot creators that have made huge progress. Hacksaw Gaming, for instance, climbed 14 positions, from 20th place to 6th and a lot of its success comes from slots it launched in 2023.

Look through this rating. There are just so many different games that players enjoyed the most that year. But those that top the list aren’t overly complicated, and it must be smart math models that win gamblers over.

But it’s obvious that the mechanic has lost its momentum. Sugar Rush Xmas, Big Bass Amazon Xtreme, Big Bass Halloween are some of other franchise releases that became popular.
Razor Returns by Push Gaming is another big release of that year and players must have appreciated the studio’s efforts as the game was 8th among best new games.
