Australian Watchdog Is Looking for Collaboration with Curacao to Bust Illegal Operators

Australian regulator (ACMA) is looking for ways to stop Curacao licensed casinos from operating in Australia. The authority has sent a letter to the head of the Ministry of Finance in Curacao, Javier Silvania, inviting Curacao to collaborate.

The letter was published by Javier Sylvania on his Facebook page. It says that ACMA has tools to enforce their law in Australia, but they have no power over overseas gaming operators. It provided three pages that list Curacao casinos breaking Australian law, but the minister didn’t publish them.

Curacao is on its way to reforming online gambling licensing. It is expected to introduce the Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA) that will issue licenses and oversee operators. ACMA thinks that when introduced, CGA may want to look into operators’ illegal activities in Australia when deciding if an operator is suitable for a license.
