Swedish Gaming Regulator Will Soon Have the Right to Block Payments and Go Undercover

From July 1, Spelinspektionen will have more tools to ensure integrity of the gambling industry in Sweden. The regulator will have the right to block payments to and from unlicensed gaming sites. This will be done in cooperation with payment providers.

Another interesting option is to go undercover. Spelinspektionen is allowed to gamble under hidden identity on licensed gaming sites to see if they comply with the regulations. This measure wasn’t possible until amendments to the Gaming Act were introduced.
